What pokemon should I catch in Pokemon Silver?

What pokemon should I catch in Pokemon Silver?
O.k. I want to start Pokemon Silver, but I need to know what pokemon to catch. What starter should I get and why. Also tell me what pokemon I should catch. At least 6 pokemon please. Thanks!

Its been a while since i played Silver, but im prety sure Cyndiquil is the best starter. In his final evolution, he is really good.

My favorite game of all time!

Cyndaquil is awesome and cute as a bonus. It learns awesome fire moves and the final evolved form is amazing…mine beat Red’s blastoise…also, you can’t find fire pokemon until later in the game, but you CAN catch grass and water.
Try catching a mareep – they evolve into ampharos…they have a great sp. attack stat and the’re cute too!
Wooper helps as does a pidgey.
I also like to train the Togepi that’s given to you towards the beginning of the game…once they become a togetic, they’re practically unstoppable.

If all else fails, trust your gut instinct. If you find a pokemon that just screams “Catch me!”, then it’s meant for you. You’ll develop your own signature pokemon team that way!

Well this all comes down to your personal preference of starter. I’ll list the best teams to match each starters ability.

These pokemon should be on every team

Pidgey (can later be replaced by lugia)
Geodude
Machop

If you choose cyndiquil

Cyndiquil is the best starter for beginners. He offers straight forward attacks and has good advantages against the first several gyms.

If you chose him you’ll need to add mareep and lapras to the above mentioned team.

Totodile
Totodile offers great options to all players and is my personal favorite. He can easily take all eight of the gyms with the right moves.

If you chose him you’ll need to add mareep and magmar to the team at the top.

Chickorita.

Chickorita is really hard to use and shouln’t be used by beginners to the game. He offers no real advantages at any of the gyms and has disatvantages at the majority of them.

If you chose him you’ll need to add magmar and lapras to the team at the top.
