What should I do with my weird and scary ability?
Psychic is a term that I think is colloquially misused. Well, only when used as in “psychic power”. The word psychic, in psychology, means pertaining to mental phenomena. Its rootword is “psyche” which means “self” or “soul”.

I think what we call “psychic powers” should rather be “psychic abilities” because these things are not powers. They are innate abilities of our inner self and our mind. We only need a deeper understanding, focus, and practice to use these. However, in some studies, people who have psychic abilities are the ones who usually have brain tumors…

Now to my personal experience….
I’ve been having this weird dreams or events for the past three months. Whenever I dreamed of someone (someone whom I haven’t seen for a long while) or whenever I see their names (or names of any other people I don’t know who have the same names with people I know) in common things like bulletin boards or newspaper or even just a flyer in a sidewalk, I get to see them the next day…in person!!!
Before, it happened to me thriced in one week but I ignored it. I just thought it was a mere coincidence. Now, it’s happening to me every other day. And the creepy part of it is that I get to see them in my dreams crystal clear then the next day, I’ll be able to pass by them in a hallway at some establishment (like in school, church, malls, cybercafes, or gaming arcades) wearing exactly the same shirt, pants, and shoes…doing exactly the same thing they’re doing in my dreams!!!
Just last week, I dreamed of my professor in plane geometry. I haven’t seen her for several months. She was wearing all violet and was holding some bundle of papers. THe next day, I passed by her while I was walking towards the locker area. She had the same bundle of papers like in my dreams and exactly the same clothing!!!! WEIRD!!! REALLY!!! It creeps me out whenever that happens. Another, (I’m not going to tell all my dreams coz I rather keep most of them to myself…I’m not that sure if you guys are the only ones reading this blog) was when I dreamed of a classmate who I rarely see these past weeks since we all are taking our internship as student teachers in various schools. Actually, I first lost the plastic comb she gave to me. I rarely use that comb but I always bring it with me. THen that night, I dreamed of her wearing a blue intern blouse. She was lining up at front of the university photocopying stall.
She was holding some yellow papers that I think she wanted to reproduce. The next day, the exact same thing happened up to the very last detail.

On another event, (this is not a dream) my bestfriend asked me to get her t-shirt in our organization (this happened at our university). SHe was at that time, very shy to go to the SCA’s office (Student Catholic Action) so I went there. I asked one of the officers where can I get a t-shirt (all members should buy an official SCA t-shirt) then the officer told me that I can look for it myself in a large plastic bag under the small altar. So while I was looking for her t-shirt (my bestfriend wants the smallest size…but I knew that the president already assigned names to each shirt, written at the small paper thing(I dunno what you call it) at the back of the shirts) I only saw two t-shirts that were of the smallest size.
One was for my bestfriend and the other belongs to an alumnus of the org.
I was confused a bit because I know the alumnus whose name was on the tag of the shirt is a big guy but his shirt is very small, the smallest so to speak. I didn’t pay anymore attention to the other shirt, I just grab my bestfriend’s shirt then went out. After that, while I was in the CR, I saw that alumnus who owns the shirt but I didn’t recognize him instantly. He even asked me, “Is the faucet fixed already?” I answered, “It’s still broken.” And I was wondering where have I seen him before then I suddenly had a strange feeling…”oh yeah he is that alumnus!!” Then at the same instant, he asked me, “You looked familiar!” I just smiled and answered, “Yeah in SCA.” Then I smiled again, nod a bit and went out quickly. I headed straight to where my bestfriend was waiting. I told her the whole thing. She was a bit doubtful at that time.
BUT when it happened to me more frequently than before, she started believing me. SHe is a Psychology major (I’m a Math major, a frustrated Philosophy and Political Science Major…lol!). She told me that maybe in the short run it’s good to have such ability. She said I should develop it more which I don’t know how. Later, she told me that if this continues in the long run, it may be bad for me. I believe her because I know a lot about Psychology too (whenever she has a project I’m the one doing all the research).
I have always believe that the mind of a person has more secrets than all of the secrets in the outside world…”MIND OVER MATTER”–”MATTER OVER MIND”–IDEALISM OR MATERIALISM”– it doesn’t matter which of these you believe. It doesn’t matter which one is the better perspective about our reality. What’s really important is that the mind had always been a significant factor in our life. It is very powerful. It can be your own personal computer, or bible, or a diary. Or it can be your most powerful weapon, your greatest strength. The worse part is if it becomes our greatest weakness, your achilles’ heel, your very own waterloo…a hidden danger waiting its time to attack..and unknowingly , you become a prey to it.
I hope nothing bad will happen to me in the future. After writing this, I’ll try to repress it..this ability or curse. It really is scaring me right now. I know a lot about precognition but I didn’t expect it to happen to me. I know too that I needed a deeper understanding of what is happening to me right now but I…I’m just scared…who wouldn’t? Whenever I get to REM sleep, everything changes. It really is not a good feeling but I won’t be telling you all the details. Gtg..gtg..
One more thing, last night I dreamed of a classmate in freshmen year. I haven’t seen her for years ’cause she stopped…and creepy as it is but I’m actually talking to her right now in this very cybercafe inside our school. She’s using the computer beside me.

Ok you know how to read people…thats cool…my advice would be to use it in a creative off-shoot way that would retain your integrity and also provide entertainment which could translate into $ $ …produce a small show at fist…tell your audience that psychics are somewhat of a colorful bunch…tell them that it’s all a question of reading people…then do the psychic bit…then explain how you did it…then have someone ask another question…or you could explain it as you do it step by step…or mix and match…I would find this educational as well as entertaining…integrity…it’s what is lacking in the world of entertainment these days…
